The art of riding the wave

If there is one thing I believe I’ve learned over time, it’s that life rarely follows the script we spend so much time writing.

Change is often sudden, uninvited and, to be perfectly honest, a bit of a nuisance.

We spend an infinite amount of energy anchoring ourselves to the idea of how we "would like things to go," but the truth is that the power of the waves doesn't care about our anchors at all.

The secret isn’t to defy the wave, but to be ready to ride it. When a massive wave of change hits, fighting it only serves to exhaust you. But if you acknowledge the shift, find your balance, and go with the momentum, you’ll discover that the same force that tried to overwhelm you can, in fact, carry you forward.

Amidst all this unpredictability, there are two things you will always be able to control:

𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘄𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀: The "how" and the "when" of your goals might change, but your "why" must remain steadfast. If the path you were walking is interrupted, do not turn back: look for another way. Keep working hard, keep learning, and above all, make sure you are ready. Consistency is the only ingredient capable of transforming, over time, an unexpected setback into an opportunity.

𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀: Remember that the ocean does not belong only to you. There is no need to push others underwater to feel in command of your own course. Success is a bitter horizon if, to gaze upon it, you had to take the breath away from those swimming beside you. Be fast and decisive in your route, but do not allow your passage to become a storm for others. Remember that you can ride the crest of the wave without overwhelming anyone, respecting those who, just like you, are simply looking for their own direction.
